Abstract

[Indexed for MEDLINE] 14. Foot Ankle Clin. 2025 Mar;30(1):127-140. doi: 10.1016/j.fcl.2024.06.010. Epub 2024 Aug 3. Post Traumatic Complications After Navicular Fractures. Swords M(1), Schepers T(2). Navicular fractures are rare injuries. The navicular is a key part of normal hindfoot function and serves as the key link from the hindfoot to the midfoot in the medial column of the foot. Management of navicular fractures is complicated by the relatively poor soft tissue envelope, tenuous blood supply and high percentage of articular surface. The navicular is frequently injured as part of a more complex injury and is rarely fractured in isolation. Strategies for managing navicular complications including arthritis, malunion, nonunion, instability, and hardware related are reviewed. Copyright © 2024 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
